Read and write : Introduction to using strobes

How do you use strobes? strobe lighting is used to create a short  burst of light.  you are shooting strobes outside you will need a power pack with lots of energy. Strobes need a light source so two options of light sources are a flash head with a power pack, or a moonlight. The power pack is energy for the light to use. The two power packs are symmetric packs that split power between multiple flash heads, and asymmetric packs that let the power move to different flash heads.

If Moonlight’s might be the best option for lighting when you are shooting indoors. Zoom reflectors attach a honeycomb grid for a more focused spread. Stands can be used to keep the lights up. The two main stands are the C-stands and the lightweight stands. The air-shock will soften the fall of your light, minimizing or even eliminating any damage for the lightweight stand. You need to pay attention while loosening your knobs, so your gear doesn’t get damaged when using C-stands. What kind of light modifiers are there?

There are many types of light modifiers, reflective umbrellas, flash head reflectors, honeycomb grids and soft boxes to name a few. Reflective umbrellas provide a soft light and are meant to be pointed away from the subject or models. Soft boxes are a more focused light towards the subject. honeycomb grids are attached to the strobe head to adjust the quality of the light.
